  5. The ACL MC multi-port serial board from Tekdata features 128Kb scratch RAM -
  6. double the buffer of other eight-port boards designed to support the Micro
  7. Channel Architecture (MCA). 128Kb of on-board buffer allows the intelligent
  8. board to accept larger amounts of data from its MCA host, thereby offloading
  9. the host CPU and enhancing system response. Besides the 128Kb buffer, the eight
  10. channel ACL MC supports a transmission rate of up to 38.4K baud at each port
  11. and provides zero-wait-state interface with the Micro Channel. The 10MHz 80C186
  12. ACL MC shares memory with its MCA host, further aiding the efficient transfer
  13. of data. Setting board parameters with the MCA configuration utility eliminates
  14. the need to set DIP switches. Each ACL MC provides eight full-featured serial
  15. ports for connecting serial devices to an MCA host. When equipped with multiple
  16. ACL MC boards, a typical MCA can system easily support 32 active users. Offered
  17. with fully shielded cables and choice of remote panel: RS232, RS422 or RS485.
  18. Besides field-proven reliability, the intelligent ACL MC provides: dual port
  19. memory can be located anywhere in the host's 16Mb address space for greater
  20. memory address flexibility; on-board scratch RAM supports custom programs,
  21. which can be developed on a PC using standard development tools.
